Associate
Sharon R. Love is a family law attorney at Shemkus Family Law, P.A. in Naples, Florida, where her practice is devoted exclusively to family law. She guides clients through adoptions, divorce (dissolution of marriage), time-sharing and parenting plans, child support, alimony, paternity, post-judgment modifications, and the division of marital assets and debts. Sharon is known for direct, empathetic, and practical legal guidance where she helps clients understand their options, protect what matters most, and move forward.
Sharon joined the firm (then Long, Murphy & Zung, P.A.) in 2019, first as a paralegal and, after her admission to The Florida Bar in 2021, as an associate attorney. She has negotiated and drafted marital settlement agreements, parenting plans, and pleadings, and has worked alongside senior attorneys on complex family law matters involving alimony, child support, and property distribution.
In September 2024, Sharon was selected to serve as Associate General Counsel for The School District of Collier County (Collier County Public Schools), serving as in-house counsel to the county’s public school system. Although the District renewed her contract, Sharon returned to Shemkus Family Law in 2025 to rejoin the firm and focus again on representing individuals and families. Her time as school district counsel gives her an informed perspective on the issues that matter most to parents, including how school enrollment, education records, and a child’s educational needs fit into complex family matters, parenting plans, and time-sharing schedules.
Before practicing law, Sharon spent more than a decade in leadership roles serving Collier County families. As Education & Scholarship Director at the Community Foundation of Collier County, she modernized the region’s scholarship search process, increased scholarship opportunities, and created a hardship assistance program following the hurricanes that impacted our community. She also served as Director of Development at the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (C’MON) and Director of Communications & Fundraising Events at The Immokalee Foundation.
Sharon’s Approach
Sharon believes no two families, and no two cases, are alike. She takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances, goals, and children’s needs, and then builds a strategy tailored to that family. Clients can expect a values-driven advocate who is thoroughly prepared, responsive, and focused on outcomes, whether a matter is resolved through negotiation and mediation or requires litigation. Her Gallup CliftonStrengths® top themes — Belief, Individualization, Achiever, Relator, and Learner — reflect how she works: principled, personal, persistent, and always learning.
